B12 INJECTIONS
Even though the vitamin is found in many foods, being low in B12 is relatively common. This is often due to a limited diet like vegan, certain medical conditions or the use of B12-depleting medications like metformin or proton pump inhibitors.
Because the ability to absorb B12 from food declines with age, low B12 is more common in older adults (those over 60), However it can still affect children and younger adults, including those who are pregnant and breastfeeding.
